A Legacy That Helped Build BPACF
The Black Professionals Association Charitable Foundation mourns the passing of Nancella Wilson Harris, Co-Founder and Trustee Emeritus, whose vision, leadership and service helped shape the organization we know today.
Nancella became a charter member of the Black Professionals Association in 1977, serving in leadership capacities on its Board of Trustees and remaining actively involved in fundraising. In 1985, along with BPA Chairperson Tanya Allmond and Past Chairman Arthur Baker Jr., she founded the Black Professionals Association Charitable Foundation to provide greater accountability for the distribution of funds raised by the organization.
Her commitment continued for decades. Nancella remained actively engaged with BPACF as a Trustee Emeritus until her passing, providing a living connection between the organization’s beginnings and the BPACF of today.
In 2019, BPACF honored Nancella as a Lifetime Achiever, recognizing her leadership, service, and foundational role in our organization.
