Event date: 2/1/2017 12:00 AM - 5/6/2017 12:00 AM Export event

The mission of the Black Professionals Association Charitable Foundation (BPACF) is to create opportunities for African Americans through scholarship, education and leadership development. Our vision is to be a catalyst that prepares and develops students and leaders to elevate our community of professionals.

Each year, BPACF serves between 100 to 150 college students from Northeast Ohio. More than 70 % of our program participants are considered low to moderate income (LMI) youth. Over the last five years, more than 60 % of our program participants were “first generation” college students.

Youth development opportunities include the following:

Scholars Program: BPACF works with local high schools, colleges and other community partners to identify minority
students to receive a scholarship award. These students complete the standard BPACF scholarship application, are interviewed and selected. The BPACF Scholars Program recipients may attend the college/institution of their choice. BPACF scholarships range from $500 to $2,000 per student.

Career Connect Internship: Career Connect is a workforce development initiative of the Black Professionals Association Charitable Foundation (BPACF) to enhance career opportunities for minority professionals from Northeast Ohio under the age of 25. The purpose of the program is to increase the number of educated and
career-ready youth in our community, and to encourage their retention in the Greater Cleveland area. Individuals selected to participate in the program are matched with an internship or co-op that closely aligns with their college major.

College to Career Series: The College to Career Series is a group of events that encourage local youth towards a commitment to college completion, academic success and career advancement. The series also allows minority scholars to meet one another and top executives from Northeast Ohio, and learn more about their career path.
